Real carrier-issued SIM cards. Yandex's account system blocks VoIP and shared numbers during both signup and SMS 2FA. Pay only when Yandex's code lands in your inbox.

Real physical SIM (not VoIP)25+ countries supportedSMS under 40 secondsRefund if code doesn't arrive
TL;DR
VirtualSMS provides Yandex verification via real carrier-issued SIM cards across 55+ countries — not VoIP, not web-based. Physical SIMs from operators like Vodafone, O2, and T-Mobile pass Yandex's network checks where VoIP numbers from Google Voice, TextNow, or MySudo get rejected. Numbers activate in under 30 seconds. Pricing from $0.05 per activation, paid in USDT, USDC, BTC, LTC, or SOL via NOWPayments. If the Yandex code doesn\'t arrive within 20 minutes, your balance is refunded automatically. Alternative to hero-sms, 5sim, SMSPool, SMS-Man, OnlineSim, SMSPVA — with real physical SIMs instead of shared VoIP pools.
Five real reasons people verify Yandex without their personal number
None of these are sketchy. Yandex is a sprawling ecosystem — email, maps, taxi, cloud — and these are real reasons people use a virtual number for it.
01
One Yandex ID unlocks email, cloud, maps, music, and Yandex Taxi — all tied to one phone number
A Yandex account is a full ecosystem account — Yandex Mail, Yandex Disk (cloud storage), Yandex Maps, Yandex Music, and Yandex Taxi all authenticate via a single Yandex ID linked to a phone number. If that number is your personal SIM and you need to separate your Yandex activity from your real identity, a virtual number gives the account a clean phone binding that isn't your own SIM.
02
Yandex only allows one account per phone number globally
Yandex permanently binds one account to each phone number. If you need a second Yandex account — separate Yandex Mail inbox for work, a fresh Yandex ID, or an account in a different regional language profile — you need a distinct phone number. A virtual number avoids buying and managing a second SIM.
03
You're accessing Yandex services from outside Russia and local carrier numbers aren't accepted
Yandex's verification flow sometimes behaves differently for non-Russian phone numbers — certain features (Yandex Taxi in Russian cities, Yandex Pay) may require a +7 Russian number. For other Yandex services (Mail, Disk, search profile), international numbers from many countries are accepted. A virtual number from a supported country gets through the phone step regardless of your physical location.
04
Yandex's 2FA is SMS-only by default — no alternative if your SIM is unavailable
Yandex's two-step verification system sends codes via SMS. If your registered number is unavailable — travelling, lost phone, carrier issues, or a SIM swap — you're locked out of every Yandex service tied to that account until you recover access. A virtual rental number, accessible from anywhere, eliminates that single point of failure.
05
Your old Yandex account was deactivated and recovery requires the original phone number
Yandex deactivates accounts that are inactive for more than a year, freeing the username. Recovery of a deactivated account still requires the original phone number — if that number is gone, the recovery path is Yandex's manual identity review. A rental number registered to Yandex keeps the account recoverable regardless of inactivity periods.
Three ways to get a Yandex verification number — pick one honestly
Yandex's ecosystem covers search, email, cloud, and transport — the right tier depends on how you'll use the account.

Our honest recommendation
If you're creating a Yandex account for a one-time purpose and immediately switching to Yandex's other 2FA methods, a pay-per-activation covers the phone step. For anyone actively using Yandex Mail, Yandex Disk, or Yandex Taxi — services that re-check phone 2FA on device changes and suspicious logins — rent the number. Yandex's SMS dependency is higher than most platforms because it integrates across so many services.
How to verify Yandex with VirtualSMS in under 3 minutes
End-to-end flow for Yandex ID — the unified account that covers Yandex Mail, Disk, and all other Yandex services.
01
Create a VirtualSMS account
Email only — no phone number required to register. Free account, no credit card needed to see pricing.
02
Top up with crypto
Minimum $2. Pay with BTC, USDT, ETH, LTC via NOWPayments. Unused balance doesn't expire.
03
Pick Yandex + a country
Select Yandex from the services list. Indonesia, UK, and Brazil have the largest stock. For Yandex services that need a Russian number, check availability on RU — it's in our fleet but lower stock. Click 'Buy number' — you get a real SIM number instantly.
04
Enter the number on Yandex's phone-confirmation screen
Go to passport.yandex.com or open the Yandex app. During registration or on the phone-confirmation step, select the correct country code from the dropdown and enter the number exactly as shown in your VirtualSMS dashboard. Click 'Get code'.
05
Copy the code from your VirtualSMS inbox
The confirmation code appears in your VirtualSMS dashboard within 40 seconds of requesting it from Yandex. Enter it in Yandex's confirmation field. If nothing arrives in 2 minutes, cancel for a full refund and try a different country — avoid hitting 'Get new code' more than once.
06
Phone step done — configure 2FA before the number is released
Once Yandex confirms the phone step, immediately navigate to Yandex ID security settings and set up an alternative 2FA method (Yandex Key authenticator app or backup email). If you're using an activation number, do this before it's released. If you're on a rental, the number stays available for future Yandex SMS codes throughout the rental period.

Which country should you pick for Yandex?
Yandex accepts phone numbers from many countries for its international services. For Yandex Taxi and some Russia-specific features, a +7 Russian number may be required — check within the specific Yandex service before buying. The tiers below reflect live Yandex order data from our fleet.
Most Yandex services (Mail, Disk, ID, search) accept international phone numbers from dozens of countries. Russia-specific features like Yandex Taxi in Russian cities and Yandex Pay require a +7 number — Russian stock is available but lower volume. Check the specific Yandex service requirements before choosing your country.
Yandex-specific problems and how to fix them
These are the failure modes we see on Yandex verifications — with specific causes and fixes for each.
"This number is already used in another account"
Why it happens
Yandex permanently links a phone number to any account it was ever associated with, including deactivated accounts from prior SIM holders. The binding persists even after account deletion.
The fix
Cancel the current number on VirtualSMS for a full refund. Get a fresh number from a different country. UK, Indonesia, and Germany numbers have the lowest prior-Yandex-account rate in our fleet — higher SIM rotation means fresher numbers.
SMS code never arrives within 2 minutes
Why it happens
Yandex's international SMS gateway is less uniform than its domestic delivery to Russian numbers. Some carrier routing paths have occasional congestion, especially on non-EU, non-Russian carriers.
The fix
Cancel for a full refund. Switch to a different country — UK, Germany, and Poland have the most consistent Yandex OTP delivery in our fleet. Avoid pressing 'Get new code' repeatedly — each request restarts Yandex's rate-limit counter.
Yandex shows an error: "Too many verification attempts — try again later"
Why it happens
Yandex rate-limits phone verification requests from the same number within a short window. Hitting 'Get new code' too many times triggers a temporary lockout on that number.
The fix
Cancel for a full refund. Wait 15+ minutes before trying with a new number. Don't reuse the same number or immediately try another in rapid succession — Yandex's rate limit applies to both the number and the session IP.
Yandex requires a Russian (+7) number but I don't need Russia-specific features
Why it happens
Some Yandex services actively enrolled in Russian regulatory frameworks require a Russian phone number for certain operations — Yandex Pay (Russian payment system), Yandex Taxi in Russian cities, and some Yandex Music features. This is a service-level requirement, not a global Yandex ID requirement.
The fix
For general Yandex Mail, Disk, and search-profile use, an international number is fine. Only get a +7 number if the specific Yandex service you're using requires it. Russian numbers are in our fleet — check availability on the Yandex service page before buying.
Yandex sends the OTP in Russian — I can't read it
Why it happens
Yandex sometimes sends verification SMS in Russian when the account's regional setting or phone country code maps to a Russian-speaking region. The SMS sender ID and surrounding text may be in Russian.
The fix
The code itself is always a 6-digit number regardless of the message language. Look for the 6-digit sequence in your VirtualSMS inbox — that's what you need to enter. If you want Yandex to send messages in English, switch your Yandex account language in settings after completing signup.
Yandex Key (authenticator app) won't initialize without the original phone number
Why it happens
Yandex Key app 2FA setup sends a confirmation code to the registered phone number as a secondary confirmation before activating app-based 2FA. If the original activation number was released, this step can't complete.
The fix
Set up Yandex Key immediately after verifying the phone step — while the VirtualSMS number (or rental) is still active. Don't wait until after the activation number is released. Once Yandex Key is set up, future 2FA doesn't require SMS.
Yandex account deactivated due to inactivity — recovery asks for the registered phone
Why it happens
Yandex deactivates accounts inactive for 1+ year and repurposes the Yandex Mail username. Account recovery requires SMS to the registered number — if that number is gone, the manual-identity path is the only option.
The fix
This is preventable: use a rental number and log in at least once every few months. If you're already locked out, use Yandex's account restoration form — be prepared to provide documents proving account ownership. Going forward, rent the number for any Yandex account you want to keep long-term.

Frequently asked questions about Yandex virtual numbers
Does Yandex block virtual or VoIP numbers?
Yandex blocks VoIP numbers and numbers with a history of being used across many Yandex accounts in bulk. It does not systematically block real carrier-issued SIM numbers, which is what VirtualSMS provides. The check is carrier-range and number-history based — a fresh real SIM from a clean carrier passes Yandex's check. Free shared virtual inboxes fail because those numbers have been used on Yandex by dozens of previous holders and are in Yandex's recycled-number database.
Is using a virtual number for Yandex legal?
In most countries, yes. Yandex's terms of service don't prohibit virtual numbers — they prohibit bulk account creation, spam, and automated abuse. Using a real SIM number to register a personal Yandex account for legitimate use is within normal terms. Note that Yandex services with Russian regulatory requirements (Yandex Pay, certain Yandex Taxi features) may have additional identity requirements beyond the phone step.
Do I need a Russian phone number for Yandex?
For general Yandex services — Yandex Mail, Yandex Disk, Yandex ID, Yandex Maps, Yandex Music outside Russia — international numbers work fine. For Russia-specific services like Yandex Pay and Yandex Taxi bookings in Russian cities, a +7 Russian number is typically required. If you're unsure, try an international number first and see if the service accepts it — Yandex's international product has expanded its phone country support significantly.
Can I use the same virtual number for multiple Yandex accounts?
No. Yandex permanently binds one account per phone number, including deactivated or deleted accounts from previous owners of that SIM. A number that was ever linked to any Yandex account cannot register a new one.
Will I need the number again after Yandex registration?
Yes if you keep SMS as your 2FA method. Yandex re-requests SMS verification on new device logins, unusual activity, and Yandex security changes. If you set up Yandex Key (authenticator app) immediately after registration while the number is still active, future 2FA will use the app — not SMS. If you don't switch to app 2FA, a single-use activation number will leave you locked out on the next Yandex SMS request.
What's the cheapest country for a Yandex number?
Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, and Thailand are our lowest-priced Yandex markets — from $0.06. UK and Germany are more expensive but have higher OTP delivery reliability for Yandex's international routing. Poland is a solid middle ground — reliable delivery at lower cost. Check the live pricing section for current per-country rates.
Can I use a Yandex account verified with a virtual number for Yandex search personalization?
Yes — Yandex search personalization, Yandex Maps saved places, and Yandex Music profile are all standard Yandex ID features that work normally regardless of whether the account was registered with a virtual or personal number. The phone step is only for identity verification — it doesn't restrict any features.
How do I pay?
Crypto (BTC, USDT, ETH, LTC via NOWPayments). Minimum top-up $2. Unused balance stays in your account indefinitely — no expiry, no subscription, no monthly fees. You pay only when a verification SMS is successfully delivered.
