These are the actual failure modes we see. Each has a specific fix — don't just retry blindly.
You tried to verify 3+ times within a few minutes. WhatsApp locks that number out for 24 hours regardless of whether it's a real SIM.
Cancel the current number on VirtualSMS (get a full refund). Grab a different country's number. Wait 10+ minutes before retrying with the new one. Don't keep hitting resend — it makes the lockout longer.

Requesting the code again on the same number rarely helps and can trigger WhatsApp's 'too many attempts' lock.
Some countries (Russia, India) and some suspicious-looking traffic patterns trigger WhatsApp's voice fallback. Not a VirtualSMS issue.
If voice call is offered, accept it — VirtualSMS numbers in some countries accept inbound voice. If not offered, cancel and switch to a rental (rentals support voice in most markets).
You sent too many messages too fast, joined too many groups, or WhatsApp's spam heuristics flagged the fresh account — this has nothing to do with the number type.
