The fix
Cancel the current number on VirtualSMS for a full refund. Get a fresh number from a different country or a different carrier tier. Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan Tier 1 numbers have the lowest prior-association rate in our fleet. Do not retry the same number.
Verification code never arrives within 2 minutes
Why it happens
Either the specific SIM is temporarily rate-limited by LINE's SMS gateway, or carrier routing between LINE's SMS provider and the destination country is congested. This is not related to your LINE account.
The fix
Cancel for a full refund. Try a different country — Japan (Docomo) and Thailand (AIS) currently have the best LINE SMS delivery speed in our fleet. Don't tap 'Resend code' more than once; each resend resets LINE's wait timer.
LINE asks for a passport or ID after phone verification
Why it happens
LINE's risk system escalated your signup to an identity check — triggered by IP reputation (VPN or datacenter IP), device fingerprint mismatch, or creating multiple accounts in a short window. This is an account-level check, not a number-level check.
The fix
This is unrelated to the phone number. Complete the ID check if you're willing, or restart with a residential IP, a clean device, and wait 24 hours before the next attempt.
Account suspended immediately after registration
Why it happens
LINE's post-signup heuristics flagged the account — common triggers: sending a large number of messages immediately, adding too many strangers as friends in the first hour, or the account being accessed from a flagged IP right after signup.
The fix

Why it happens
LINE's OTP is valid for a short window (around 5 minutes). If you requested multiple codes, only the most recent is valid — earlier ones are invalidated.
