How VirtualSMS verification works

VirtualSMS provides verification codes from real carrier-issued SIM cards on local carriers in 145+ countries. When you request a number, we reserve one of our SIMs for your activation. The platform you’re verifying sends the SMS through the global cellular network — the same way it would if a normal person owned that number. The code arrives in your dashboard within seconds.

How the verification flow works

1. You pick a service + country. The dashboard shows live availability, success rates, and current pool pricing — not stale catalog data.
2. We reserve a real SIM. The number is locked to you for the 20-minute activation window (or longer if you bought a rental).
3. You enter the number in the app you’re verifying. That app sends an SMS through the cellular network.
4. The SMS lands on our SIM. Within ~8 seconds, the code appears in your VirtualSMS dashboard. Copy, paste, done.

Why real SIMs beat VoIP-based services

Real cellular SIMs cost roughly 5–10× more per number than VoIP numbers pulled from upstream carriers. The trade-off shows up in platform acceptance: real-SIM numbers pass the carrier checks that reject VoIP, so strict platforms (WhatsApp, Tinder, banking, crypto) accept them where VoIP-based services are widely blocked. What we don’t do

• No KYC. Email + password to sign up. No government ID, no proof-of-address, no selfie.
• No long-term SMS storage. Message bodies are retained briefly for dispute resolution (typically 30 days) then purged.
• No data sales. We don’t sell customer data or run advertising-supported flows.
